Girls night to the Nutcracker

So as a really fun thing every Christmas I take the girls to go see the Nutcracker. This year cousin Alyssa got to go with us. We all dress up in our prettiest clothes and go to dinner then to the ballet. There is no mistaking how much Ariel loves it. At intermission some of the backstage crew came and asked us if we would like to go backstage after the performance and they would give us a tour. Michaela was a little tired by then but everyone else was game so off we went. They learned how the snow was made, got to see Mother Ginger's skirt up close and got to see and touch some of the tutu's. Oh and they also got to meet some of the dancers. As someone that danced in the Nutcracker and has a love for it I hope the girls loved it as much as their mother loves sharing it with them.

Halloween 2008

No pumpkins this year but 4 really excited kids anyway! Ariel was Hannah Montana (go figure), Michaela was a runway diva (cheetah print is all the bomb with knee high boots), Bailey was a Bratz cat (wanted whiskers way bad) and Easton was Bumblebee transformer (ask him to transform for you sometime hee hee). If I would have been asked if it was Halloween yet one more time I might have just pulled my hair out. All that aside they were all just precious. We have been high on candy for what about 17 days now. I think mom had better get smart and start making it disappear while they are out some afternoon.

Ariel has moved into her NEW room!

Ariel moved into the new room. Way Awesome! I thought it was going to be traumatic on her as change is not her strong suit but what a trouper. Or maybe she just really likes it?? Who wouldn't though. She picked out the lavender walls, the bedding and the pictures on the wall. We went ahead and installed the lift in the ceiling so it goes from her bed back into the bathroom and can lower her into the tub or into the roll in shower.

Contruction is finally done!

If anyone ever tells me that remodeling is better than moving again I just might have to hit them! I do have to say we had the best contractors and probably the best experience that we could but it still was not a whole lot of fun. We enclose the one car garage and made that a bed/bath for Ariel and then built a new 1.5 car garage on the west side of the house. The final product from the outside looks awesome. So here are some before and after for those of you who don't get to visit often.
